Grade and History Score: two different reads.
The grade counts recorded resales. The History Score is a separate percentage from the recorded data. Neither one is a price, a promise, or a lifetime audit.
The grade
A grade is based on the recorded resale count after that token’s provider history is indexed. Mints and zero-price transfers are not resales. Price and rarity do not change the letter. If the count is partial or unknown, the grade stays Unrated. It is not zero, and it is not A++.
A++ needs both known zero recorded resales and a completed provider-history index. Zero recorded resales is not proof an ape never sold. A completed provider index is not a verified lifetime or on-chain history.

The History Score
The score is a recorded-data percentage. It uses more than price points. The base weights are recorded resales 70, price movement 10, and non-sale transfers 10. A missing weighted part is left out and the remaining weights are rescaled. It is not treated as zero, and it does not wipe a score the recorded resale count can support.
Then two ETH sales can move the percentage: the record-high ETH sale adds points, and the record-low ETH sale subtracts points. These are those two sales, not every high or low price. Each whole ETH, after flooring that sale’s recorded amount, is one point. 100 points equal one percentage point. A record-high sale of 69.99 ETH is +69 points, which is +0.69 percentage points. A record-low sale of 5 ETH is −5 points, which is −0.05 percentage points. WETH, bundles, unknown prices, USD, and floor snapshots are not converted. If there is no comparable ETH resale, those two inputs stay unavailable and the rest of a valid score still stands.
Trait rarity can then move the score across 4 percentage points. Rank 1, the rarest in this source, adds 2.00. The commonest rank subtracts 2.00. A missing or invalid rank is left out. It is not treated as common, and it never changes the letter. Rarity here is not demand, safety, or value.
A recorded score stays between 0 and 99.99. Only a verified mint with no resale and no non-sale transfer would be 100, and this feed cannot verify that.

OSWiki supplies the recorded provider history. ApeFax does not present it as a verified complete lifetime sales history or a complete on-chain transfer history. Unavailable information stays unavailable.
Questions
- Are BAYC reports free?
- Yes. MAYC reports are coming soon.
- Does A++ mean an ape has never sold?
- No. It means the completed provider history records zero resales. An unavailable count stays Unrated.
- Can price or rarity improve the grade?
- No. The grade depends on the recorded resale count. Price adjustments and rarity affect only the History Score.
- What can I see in a report?
- A graphical summary, the recorded sales, and marketplace links. Missing information is labeled rather than invented. View a report
- Is this a complete on-chain history or a buying recommendation?
- Neither. Grades and scores are not investment recommendations, return forecasts, or assessments of safety, demand, or value.
- Do advertisers influence grades?
- No. Sponsored means advertising, kept separate from grades. A Sponsored label is not a statement that ApeFax was paid.
